On september the 15th our school has conducted a sports day. Year 12 was given the job to organise this day.In our school we have 4 house groups, which are Gogol, Tolstoy, Chekhov and Pushkin. For each house there was a captain and vice-captain elected.i was elected as the house captain of Gogol.I had to plan and iniciate the activities for the day. I also had to make teams for football,basketball,dodgeball,volleyball and the realays for all the year groups of my house. I worked collaboratively with my fellow house mates and made the teams. On the day I participated in all of the activities and this let me increase my awareness of my own strengths and weaknesses. I have made sure that everybody from my house was engaged in at least one activity.
First we played dodgeball, where we were not very lucky, however in football we came secound. The sprinting around the school was my strongest sport, as I came first in it. Baketball and volleyball were quite a challenge for my team, as some of my team members have never played these sports before. After the lunch break we ran the relays, however we, the IB students wanted to show unity and on the last lap waited for eachother and finished at the same time and all of us gained first place. After thet we ran a relay against the teachers were we beat them by nearly half a lap. On this day I developed some new skills, for example in basketball, which I am not very good at.
We all enjoted this day and now we will be waiting for the next sports day, which will be held in the summer of 2012.
